The Cat in Boots

 Scene 1

Narrator: A poor boy’s father has died. His family will now surely fall further into poverty.

He sits sadly beneath a tree.

Boy: Poor me! My father died. Now I only have a cat.

Cat: Meow

Song (Boy): What Can I Do?  I don't have any food. what can i do?

I don't have a house. I only have a cat. Oh, I only have a cat.

Cat: I’ll help you master.

Song (Cat): I can help you. i know what to do.

I can help you. i have a plan. I only need some boots. i only need a bag.

Boy: All right. Take these boots and this bag.

Cat: Thank you. See you later!

 

 Scene 2 (the kings castle)

King: Ah, it’s bright and sunny outside!

Servant: Let’s have a picnic. Look! A visitor has come to see the king.

Cat: (bows) Your Majesties. My master, Lord Carabas, sends you a present.

Princess: How nice of him!.

King: Who is Lord Carabas?

Cat: Are you ready?

Song (Cat & Boy): Lord Carabas. L ord Carabas. Is the kindest prince.

King: Impressive.

Princess: We’re going on a picnic. Would you join us?

Cat: Thank you. But I have to go home.

 

Scene 3 (A riverside)

Cat: Master! You have to take a bath!

Boy: Why? Am I smelly?

Cat: It’s important. Come quickly!

Boy: Okay.

Cat: Here. In the river!

Narrator: The cat sees the King and Princess riding by in their carriage and runs up to them.

Cat: Stop! Help!

Servant: It’s the cat with boots.

Cat: Robbers stole Lord Carabas’s clothes!

Princess: Oh! He needs help!

King: Bring him some of my nicest clothes.

Servant: Lord Carabas, please take some clothes from the king.

Boy: Who? Oh, right, me. Thank you.

Princess: He’s so handsome. I think I’m in love!

Cat: Would you like to visit Lord Carabas’s castle?

 

King: Certainly.

Cat: Then I’ll go and get it ready.

Servant: My castle? Oh… yes. Thank you.

Song (King, Cat, Princess, Servant, Boy): The ogre is scary! Scary? He's so scary.

The ogre has magic! Magic? Bad magic! The ogre is mean! Mean?

He'll eat you up! Look out for the ogre!Boo!

 

Scene 4 (a farm)

Narrator: The cat goes to a field with a big castle in the distance.

Cat: Hello, farmer. Whose field is this?

Farmer: It’s the Ogre’s field.

Song (Cat and Farmer):

The ogre is scary! Scary? He's so scary.

The ogre has magic! Magic? Bad magic! The ogre is mean! Mean?

He'll eat you up! Look out for the ogre!Boo!

Cat: A mean, magical ogre? Well, if you help me, I’ll fight him for you.

Farmer: What should we do?

Cat: The king is coming. Tell him, “This is Lord Carabas’s field.”

Farmer: I can’t do that. The Ogre will be angry.

Cat: I can beat him.

Farmer: But you’re only a cat.

Princess: Hello, farmers. Whose field is this?

Farmer: This is the Ogre’s field.

Princess: It’s not your castle?

Boy: No.

 

Cat: I’m sorry.

Ogre: Who are you? And what are you doing in my field?

Cat: Oh no! What should we do?

Boy: This is your fault!

Cat: It’s my fault? You lied too!

Boy: Well, it was your idea!

Princess: Stop! I’ll handle this.

Everyone: How?

Princess: Hey, what a small, weak ogre.

Ogre: What? I’m big and strong!

Princess: The ogre in the cave is stronger than you.

Ogre: Where? I’ll fight him!

Princess: follow me.

 

They walk to the cave.

 

Princess: He’s in there.

 

The ogre goes into the cave

 

Ogre: Where are you? I’ll fight you!

Princess: Help me move this rock!

 

Everyone: One, two, three!

King: Great idea, princess!

Boy: That was amazing!

King: Hooray! The ogre is gone!

Cat: Princess, you’re my new master now.

Song (whole cast): Good job! Good job! Wat a smart young lady!

What a wonderful princess! The rincess is so smart and wise. Good job!
