Animals That Live in the Desert

 

 

 

Hello, my name is Andy

and I'm going to talk about "Animals that live in the desert".

Land is called ‘desert’ if it gets less than 250 mm of rain every year.

One-third of Planet Earth is covered in deserts.

Deserts are hot in the daytime and cold at night.

Desert animals have evolved to live in these hot,

dry environments.

Their incredible features help them survive,

find food and protect themselves.

One such animal is the camel.

Camels have long legs

and their padded feet help them walk easily on the sand.

They can go for a long time without water.

Another animal is the Scorpion.

Scorpions are nocturnal.

They are active at night when the desert is cooler.

They have pincers to grab their prey

and a stinger at the end of their tail

which they use to defend themselves.

Isn't it amazing how these animals can live in such harsh environments?

They teach us important lessons about resilience and survival.
