Mt. Halla is amazing! / Yian

 

 

 

On Jeju Island, there is a saying,

"Jeju Island is Mount Halla, and Mount Halla is Jeju Island."

This means the two have some special connection

that makes them important to each other. I believe this is true, too.

Anywhere you go on Jeju Island,

you can see Mount Halla because it is so tall.

 

Mountain Halla is the tallest mountain in all of korea.

It's even taller than Mount Sorak and Mount Jiri.

Mount Halla is very beautiful.

It's unique because Jeju Island is in a different climate

than the rest of the country.

On the island they get warm weather and ocean is warmer.

 

Since they have nice warm weather,

varoius trees and plants can grow there.

Diffrenet kinds of animals live on the mountain such as the black pig.

 

Seeing different type of trees, plants,

and animals makes a trip to Jeju Island very special.

You will feel as if you have stepped out of Korea and right into Hawaii!!

 

Mount Halla is so high up that it can take a long time to climb.

I hiked it with my family once.

I was so tired and hot after two hours,

but my father made me go further. He said i would like it at the top.

 

When we finally reached the top, the view was amazing!

We could see the whole island.

It was one of the best hikes i have ever done.

 

At the bottom of Mountain Halla, there are many restaurants.

They serve delicious dishes that are a speciality to Jeju Island.

But my favorite is the fruit for dessert.

There are fresh oranges and persimmons. They taste so sweet.

 

Next time you take a vacation,

think about taking a vacation to Jeju Island.
