Kevin- Athene

 

A long long time ago, the goddess,

Athene was born in the world of the gods.

She was born in a very strange way.

In the world of the gods, Zeus was king.He wanted to be king forever.

He was very afraid of losing his position.

'My mother foretold that Metis will give birth to a boy

and he will control the sky and heaven.'

'What should I do?' he thought.

"Yeah! Like my father did, I shall eat Metis." Then, he ate Metis.

A few days later, Zeus suffered form a serious headache.

He quickly called Hephaestus.

"Quick, slam my head with your axe!"

"But then you will die, father." said Hephaestus.

"Nonsense! Gods do not die! Quick, slam it!"

Hephaestus lifted his axe high and slammed Zeus's head hard.

Suddenly, a small girl came out of Zeus's head.

She shouted with a loud voice and was wearing armor like a strong man.

Zeus called her Athene. Her name means wisdom.

Like her name, she was the wisest and smartest goddess.
